TAOIST ASTRAL HEALINGMeditation 1: Earth-Sun-Moon Triangle

(Pages 167–71)

Before any Taoist Astral Healing practice, it is important to “warm up” your being with several basic exercises from Cosmic Chi Kung, Tai Chi, Tao Yin, etc.

1. Open the three tan tiens to the six directions, then practice the Inner Smile and Microcosmic Orbit.

2. Connect to Mother Earth force: exhale deeply into the earth and inhale cool blue energy into your palms, soles, and perineum. Store this energy in your lower tan tien.

3. Bring your attention to your sacrum and picture a bright full silverwhite moon behind you, shining on your sacrum. Breathe moonlight through the sacrum into your sexual center, where it mixes with blue sexual energy. Pull up on your anus, perineum and sexual organs, and gently squeeze the muscles around the prostate/uterus and ovaries. Practice this for 5–10 minutes.

4. Bring your attention to your mid-eyebrow point and picture a bright golden sun in front of you. Absorb the tingling light particles into your third eye and pituitary gland. Breathe in the light and guide it from the third eye and pituitary gland down to the heart.

5. Make the heart's sound (haw-w-w-w-w-w) to clean and balance the heart's energy. Feel love, peace, patience, and respect as the sun shines into your heart. Blend the golden yellow color of sunlight with the bright red color of love and compassion in your heart center (behind the sternum, right between your nipples). Gather more sunlight until you feel the “blooming of compassion.”

6. Inhale silver white moonlight into the sacrum and sexual center and golden yellow sunlight into the third eye and heart center at the same time. Exhale and condense these two energies behind your navel, bringing heart energy down through the aorta and sexual energy up through the vena cava. Continue for 10–15 minutes until the lower tan tien and the body are vibrating with orgasmic energy.

7. Move this energy into the perineum and circulate it in the Microcosmic Orbit 9–18 times. Feel your perineum connect to the earth, your sacrum connect to the moon, your crown connect to the North Star and Big Dipper, and your third eye connect to the sun.

8. Gather energy in your lower tan tien and rest. Finish with Chi Self-Massage.

TAOIST ASTRAL HEALINGMeditation 2: Strengthening the Organs and Balancing the Emotions

(Pages 171–75)

Open the three tan tiens to the six directions, then practice the Inner Smile and Microcosmic Orbit.

Make a firm chi ball in the lower tan tien and connect to the earth force. Touch your cranial bones very lightly—with a “butterfly touch”—and feel your craniosacral rhythm. Expand your awareness of this rhythm 5–50 centimeters away from your physical body.

Place your nondominant hand on your spleen/pancreas and fill these organs with the yellow light of openness and trust. Form a beak with your dominant hand and place it softly on your crown to connect with the sphenoid bone.

Let chi move between your hands and between the spleen/pancreas and sphenoid bone. When you feel the connection, hold your hands in front of your tan tien, expand your cranial structure, and look up with your eyes through your crown. Visualize Saturn, and let its bright yellow light shine down into your crown, directly into your sphenoid bone, spleen, and pancreas, charging them with energy.

5. Place your nondominant hand on your lungs and your flat dominant hand lightly on your left parietal bone. Fill them with the white light of courage and righteousness. Repeat step 4 to connect your lungs and left parietal bone, and fill them with the white light of Venus.

6. Place one hand on your liver and the other (flat hand) on your right parietal bone. Fill them with the green light of kindness. Repeat step 4 to connect your liver and right parietal bone to Jupiter, charging them with its clear green energy.

7. Place one hand on your heart and the other on your frontal bone. Fill them with the red light of love, peace, and respect. Repeat step 4 to connect your heart and frontal bone to Mars, and to fill them with its warm red energy.

8. Place one hand on the Door of Life point and the other on the occipital bone. Fill them with the blue light of gentleness. Repeat step 4 to connect your kidneys and occipital bone to Mercury, charging them with its deep blue energy.

9. Visualize all five planets above your crown, and let their light shine into the cranial entrances, deeply connecting to the organs. Bring all these energies together in the lower tan tien and condense them into a chi ball. Circulate the chi ball in the Microcosmic Orbit 9–18 times.

10. Gather energy in the lower tan tien and finish with Chi Self-Massage.

TAOIST ASTRAL HEALINGMeditation 3: Strengthening Energy Fields

(Pages 176–79)

Repeat meditation 2 from the previous pages. This time, connect the organs, cranial bones, and planets to the element they are associated with, as follows: spleen/earth; lungs/metal; liver/wood; heart/fire; kidneys/water. Spend time connecting to these elemental forces, then mix the elemental and planetary energies in the organs.

Let the energy, color, and virtue of each organ expand into its related body system as follows, then let it expand out into your aural field:

Spleen/sphenoid bone/Saturn/earth element/muscular or lymphatic system.

Lungs/left parietal/Venus/metal element/respiratory system.

Liver/right parietal/Jupiter/wood element/tendon and ligament system.

Heart/frontal bone/Mars/fire element/circulatory system.

Kidneys/occipital bone/Mercury/water element/bone structure and hormonal system.

Feel the strong, multicolored energy filling and surrounding your whole body, then add the sun and moon energy: Sun/fire element/ pericardium/third eye/lymph and immune system; Moon/water element/sexual organs/sacrum/hormonal system.

Envision all the planets above and round you, and let their energies move freely through your body. Condense these energies into a chi ball in your lower tan tien, and circulate it in the Microcosmic Orbit. Gather again in the lower tan tien and rest, ending with Chi Self-Massage.

TAOIST ASTRAL HEALINGMeditation 4: Connecting to the Stellar and Galactic Forces

(Pages 179–85)

Open the three tan tiens to the six directions, then practice the Inner Smile and Microcosmic Orbit.

Make a firm, condensed chi ball in the lower tan tien and connect to the earth force.

Connect the six galaxies in six directions with golden light.

Connect with the North Star and five palaces, expanding your aware-ness beyond the Milky Way and into the galaxy around the North Star.

Circulate the energy in the Microcosmic Orbit, and then collect energy at the navel and do Chi Self-Massage.

TAOIST ASTRAL HEALINGMeditation 5: Balancing the Planetary and Stellar Influences

(Pages 185–88)

Before you begin this practice, determine which elemental force is the strongest in your being and which the weakest.

Open the three tan tiens to the six directions, then practice the Inner Smile and Microcosmic Orbit.

Condense a firm chi ball in the lower tan tien and connect with the Mother Earth force.

Connect the organs, cranial bones, planets, galaxies, and elemental forces as in the above meditations.

TAOIST ASTRAL HEALING

Balancing the energy: Jupiter influence reflects strong Liver Chi, while Venus influence weakens Lung Chi.

4. Identify your strongest element (Jupiter/liver in this example), and fill your body with its color—in this case, green.

5. Now change the color in your body and auric field to the color of your weakest system—in this example white/Venus/lungs. Place both hands over the lungs and draw the white color in. Place one hand on your left parietal bone and feel its connection to the lungs.

6. When you feel the connection, place your hands in front of your navel and turn your eyes to the left, upward, and inward—looking through the parietal bone and out through the skull in the direction of Venus and the white galaxy. Visualize a clear white ball above you and let its energy shine directly into your body.

7. Repeat this transition from strongest to weakest element several times until their energies feel more balanced. If it doesn't work, let the color of the strongest system (green, in this case) project through the weakest sys-tem (through the left parietal bone/Venus/white galaxy, in this example) until you feel the color of the weak system clearly. Then let this color fill your whole body—especially the respiratory system—and aura.

8. Condense a chi ball in the lower tan tien and circulate it in the Micro-cosmic Orbit. Gather it again in the lower tan tien and rest, then finish with Chi Self-Massage.

TAOIST ASTRAL HEALINGMeditation 6: Balancing Yin/Yang Extremes in the Star World

(Pages 188–90)

Take time to master the previous five meditations before attempting this one, as it can be harmful to a practitioner who is not well prepared.

Start with the warm-ups and practices recommended for the previous meditations, making sure to establish a good grounding.

Expand your awareness to the star world. Connect with the North Star and the Big Dipper, letting their light fill your upper tan tien. Visualize two points on either side of the North Star: one an extreme light/yang point (quasar) and the other an extreme dark/yin point (black hole).

Visualize these two points circling around the North Star faster and faster. Continue letting them circle around as you move your awareness into and through the North Star.

At a certain point, these points will be orbiting so fast that the boundaries between yin and yang will start to fall away and you will feel a lifting sensation. Let the process continue until yin and yang melt together, giving rise to pure yang energy.

Return to the place of Wu Chi—nothingness—and rest, letting the practice do its work.

TAOIST ASTRAL HEALINGMeditation 7: Yin Stage Awareness

(Pages 191–94)

Warm up, then open the three tan tiens to the six directions and do the Inner Smile practice and Microcosmic Orbit.

Condense a firm chi ball in the lower tan tien and connect to Mother Earth energy.

Bring your attention to your cranial rhythm and expand it into your aural field. (If you are meditating with a group, connect to the energy fields of those in the group at this time.)

Relax and be receptive. Observe the energies that are influencing you from moment to moment: the specific nature entities, planets, individual stars, elemental forces, galaxies, pulsars, quasars, black holes, etc.

At the end of the meditation, draw the energy back into your own individual field. Condense a chi ball in your lower tan tien and circulate it in your Microcosmic Orbit. Gather it again in your lower tan tien and rest. Finish with Chi Self-Massage.
